Remember when going to the video rental store was all the rage? Video rental stores sprung up all over the country like dandelions on a green lawn. You could find movies recently released on VHS/DVD for a pittance of a fee compared to what you’d pay at the theater. And often at the corner grocery, along with the latest released video, you could pick up soda pop and popcorn, and my all-time-favorite movie munchies, chocolate-covered raisins. We can still rent DVDs at small shops today, and even at many public libraries, but with the availability of the Internet, a monumental shift has taken place.
