Chapter 8. Migrating the user interface to
the Java client
This chapter covers the steps that are necessary to create a Java Graphical User Interface
(GUI) that interacts with the Order Entry application that was discussed in Chapter 6,
Overview of the Order Entry application on page 299. The user interface is designed, so
minimal changes are needed in the RPG code. Furthermore, the host application is changed,
so it can handle both an invocation from a Java client and a native invocation that does not
involve a Java interface.
