So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
SYN flood
A SYN flood is a classic DDoS attack that sends a lot of packets to a machine, attempting to keep connections from being closed. The connections eventually time out on the server side; however, the aim is to repeatedly hit the server, consuming all the available resources so that genuine connections cannot get through.
