About the Author

Ted Shelton, managing director, PwC Advisory, leads a social business consulting team focusing on the consumer, retail, and high-tech industries with PwC's Management Consulting Practice. He is an active blogger and industry thought leader on how corporations can better utilize social media and mobile technologies to manage and improve their brands, providing a deep understanding of the leading technology players currently changing the landscape of customer engagement for corporate America. He spent more than 20 years working in product development, marketing, and as a senior executive in both private and public companies as a social media-focused consultant working with clients including Alcatel-Lucent, General Motors, and Thomas Reuters on social business models for innovation and building market ecosystems. He has served as chief strategy officer of Borland Software and senior VP of sales for WhoWhere (acquired by Lycos) as well as several software and Internet start-up companies.
