I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Monitors
We discuss Ceph Monitors (also known as MONs or mons) in other chapters in detail, but we'll describe them a bit here as well for context. Ceph MONs maintain and serves a wealth of information about cluster topology and status. In this way they are a clearinghouse of sorts, accepting connections and updates from other Ceph daemons including other MONs, OSDs, and MDS instances.
Ceph MONs operate as a cluster, exploiting the Paxos consensus algorithm to ensure reliable and consistent operation as a quorum. The vital information collected and distributed by MONs includes:
