Il y a environ un an, au début de l'année 2024, je me préparais pour mon troisième atelier de conception d'architecture de la semaine. Alors que je me tenais devant les participants enthousiastes, la conversation s'est naturellement orientée vers l'architecture Medallion. Les participants ont commencé à lancer des questions : "Quelles sont les meilleures pratiques ?" "Que font les autres entreprises ?" "Cette architecture est-elle un modèle valable pour les grandes organisations opérant dans plusieurs domaines ?" "Le maillage de données remplace-t-il une architecture de type lakehouse ?" "Comment mettre en œuvre la couche d'argent dans la pratique ?"
Chaque fois que j'aborde le concept d'architecture en médaillon, j'ai l'impression de démêler un puzzle complexe. Malgré son approche simplifiée en couches pour répondre à diverses préoccupations architecturales, le manque persistant de définitions claires et de directives descriptives entraîne souvent une avalanche de questions, suscitant la confusion et l'inefficacité au sein des organisations. Ce thème récurrent m'a prompt à prendre des mesures décisives : J'ai décidé d'écrire un livre qui fournirait un guide complet de l'architecture Medallion, offrant clarté et orientation aux professionnels qui naviguent dans ce paysage complexe.
