Chapter 6Definitions of IoT
Some people define the IoT as a shorthand way of describing a globally interconnected continuum of devices and objects interacting with the physical environment, people, and each other. And the subset of IoT is M2M communication that describes a set of interconnected devices that allow both wireless and wire-line systems to communicate with other devices, mostly in vertical segments, that is, the plumbing/connectivity that enables the IoT ecosystem.
