It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The filter operator
Using on the following method allows emitting only those items from an Observable that pass a test (predicate/type test):
- filter: Emit only elements that satisfy a specified predicate
- ofType: Emit only those elements of the specified type
The following code shows the usage of the filter method, used to filter out elements not starting with the letter a:
