Database as a Service (DBaaS) is a managed service where a cloud provider manages the underlying infrastructure and database software. As a result, the customer can rapidly deploy the database and automate the operations. It is a very cost-effective approach because all overhead expenses, such as setup, administration, and maintenance of infrastructure, are not part of the customer’s responsibility.
