When we mention continuous integration and continuous delivery, also known as CI/CD, the image shown in Figure 9-1 is often at the forefront of these discussions. This image is intended to display an infinite loop of build, deployment, and release stages that never end. It is a continuous release process. Benefits of CI/CD include everything from faster software release cycles to bridging the gap between developers and operators.
