Any IT infrastructure or software system these days maintains its own logs to capture a variety of information including performance, access information, events, and other diagnostic information. This is no different with the OCI cloud service. When enabled on the cloud, each of the resources captures a significant amount of logging information across potentially and incredibly a large number of services.
