terminate (KS) terminates all the active instances of the KS effectively canceling the
effect of new_KS. Can be used by a KS on itself (and its siblings).
update (KS, patterns) changes the activation patterns for a KS.
regulate (KS, new_power) controls the resource allocation.
4.3.4 The Mapping into the Mach Layer
KSs in the parallel virtual machine are mapped into Mach primitives. In this mapping
a KS can be clustered with other KSs that can benefit from sharing computer resources.
