It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
When a container is launched with the -v <host path>:<container path> option, the Docker Engine bind mounts the host path into the container filesystem on the specified container path. The bind mount is a Linux capability that is used to take an existing directory structure and map it to a different location.
