When I was in third grade, there was a carnival at my elementary school, and I won a big, beautiful chocolate cake in the cakewalk. Each of the prize cakes was made by class mothers, and each had a small hand-typed slip noting which teacher's class had donated the cake. The one I won happened to be donated by someone in my own class, so it had my teacher's name on it. I was thrilled because, well, it was chocolate cake! And it was made possible by my favorite teacher, Mrs. Schweitzer.
