A remotely operated high-voltage igniter powered by a 9-V battery (Fig. 16-1).

Hazards
Nothing significant. The high-voltage (HV) spark produced is of low enough current to not pose any safety hazard, but it will cause an irritating and mildly painful burn. Eye protection should be worn when making, testing, and operating this device.
