Abstract
This chapter introduces to the field of electronics to those learning electronics for the first time such as nonelectronic engineers, technicians, and hobbyists/experimenters/makers. It reveals the benefits of learning electronics. It goes on to show how the electronics industry works. The chapter continues with an explanation of the difference between electricity and electronics. It then summarizes some of the main segments of electronics that include computers, cell phones, and robotics.
