Abstract
Chapter 10 concerns audio electronics, sound and music. The electronic equipment of audio is surveyed including microphones and speakers. Digital audio is discussed in depth including compression. The operation of an MP3/iPod player and a compact disk is explained. A typical audio–video receiver is analyzed. Other audio topics covered are Bluetooth wireless headphones and speakers, streaming versus downloading music, noise cancelling earphones, and hearing aids.
