Electronic Concepts: More Interesting Than You Think
Some Basic Stuff You Really Need to Know
Abstract
This chapter explains electrons and how they create current flow. Generating electrons and controlling current flow for some useful purpose is what electronics is all about. The chapter defines voltage, the source that initiates current flow. Direct current sources such as batteries, solar cells, and power supplies are discussed. Alternating current sources such as the power line and signal generators are covered. Finally, magnetism and electromagnetic induction are introduced and their importance to electronics is explained. Projects cover the use of a digital multimeter.
