It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
This chapter covered a wide array of artifacts produced by the Windows operating system. Before you could examine specific artifacts, you had to consider one artifact that was common to most artifacts: time. The NTFS file system stores its MAC times in GMT, whereas FAT file systems store their MAC times in local time. FAT uses an MS-DOS time stamp for MAC times; NTFS uses the Windows 64-bit time stamp for MAC times. The Windows 64-bit time stamp measures the number of 10 millionth-of-a-second intervals since January 1, 1601, at 00:00:00 GMT.
