OBJECTIVES

After reading this chapter, you will be able to

  • Draw sectional views—the views that are projected by imagining a machine part to have been cut and a part of it removed

  • Draw the half-sectional views—obtained when the cutting plane cuts halfway through the object so that half of the object appears in section whereas the other half is the external view—for symmetrical objects

  • Draw revolved sections, removed sections, partial sections and offset sections
