6.5.3 Storage as a Service (STaaS)
Cloud storage can be internal to the organization or it could be an external
storage where the storage is provided by a CSP located outside the organi-
zation’s DC, which is also known as Storage as a Service (STaaS). STaaS is a
cloud business model in which a service provider rents space in its storage
infrastructure to various cloud users. Figure 6.3 shows the SaaS cloud model.
The subscribers of the STaaS can have signicant cost savings in hardware,
