The preceding chapters have addressed the need for IT CPIC and focused on how the overall process should be designed. The objective was to provide an understanding of both the philosophy and the mechanics of investment management so that agencies will be able to fully harness and benefit from their IT resources. This chapter provides a more detailed treatment of three topics that present special challenges: IT infrastructure, information security and privacy, and acquisition management.
