Day Twenty Seven Enjoying Your Dollars

Look at yesterday's list of your week's happiest and least happy moments. Could you find a way to have more of the happy moments – and less time devoured by activities you don't enjoy?

As you mull that question, think about money from two different angles. First, what role does it play? At first blush, the connection might appear tenuous. If you love coaching your kid's soccer team and hate commuting, money might seem like an incidental consideration. But changing your life – so you worked at home more or spent less time commuting, thus giving you more time with your child – might involve getting a new job or moving closer to the office.

Second, could you change the way you spend, so you increase the good times and devote fewer hours to things you don't like? For instance, you might budget more for restaurants if you love eating out, while also hiring a landscaping service if you loathe yardwork.

Got ideas for how to make your weeks more enjoyable? List them here:
