If everyone has a library of game ideas waiting to be developed, why do we see the same ideas again and again being marketed? When a new mobile game becomes a hit, why do we see a hundred facsimiles pop up as quickly as they can be hammered together? If game design itself is solving interesting problems with the end of a particular squishy human aesthetic like “fun,” why would so many developers eschew the fun part of game development?
