I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
2 FOUNDATIONS OF TECH ETHICS

Having established the overall aims and context in the introduction, in this chapter we define tech ethics by unpacking both technology as a human-driven system and ethics as a layered framework of norms and values. We introduce three major ethical theories – consequentialism, deontology and virtue ethics – using relatable tech scenarios. We then categorise ethical issues into three types: immediate harms from tech artefacts, broader societal impacts and deeper metaphysical questions. Finally, we explore the role of professionals within a complex tech ecosystem, highlighting their responsibility to lead ethical practice through informed, context-aware decisions.
