This book is aimed at IT practitioners and managers, and so IT terms such as ‘integration testing’ or ‘project lifecycle’ are not included in the Glossary as they are assumed to be familiar to the readers.
AI: Artificial intelligence; a range of IT technologies including machine learning and neural networks which have the common property of making decisions or recommendations based on some form of statistical algorithm (as opposed to rules), at least in part.
ACM: Association for Computing Machinery is a US-based international learned society for computing – see acm.org/
Autonomy: The right or freedom of self government (countries) or of action (human beings) or of action (robots and AI systems).
