It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
LPF with scipy ndimage and numpy fft
The numpy fft module's fft2() function can also be used to run FFT on an image. The scipy ndimage module provides a bunch of functions to apply LPF on image in the frequency domain. The next section demonstrates one of these filters (namely fourier_gaussian()) with an example.
