So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Cargo test
To be perfectly honest, the most important tool for checking in CI is the testing tool. We already learned about writing tests in Chapter 13, Testing and Debugging Rust Microservices, but in this section we explore some useful arguments for the cargo test command.
There are some useful arguments for CI:
- --no-run: Compiles, but doesn't run tests, which is useful for checking the compilation of tests for different targets, without wasting time for extra running
- --all-targets: Runs tests for all targets
- --all-features: Runs tests with all features
- --examples: Tests all examples
- --jobs <N>: Runs tests in multiple jobs, which is useful if the test uses one database instance only and you want to run tests sequentially to avoid a situation ...
