So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Oracle Corporation plans to regularly release software updates for Oracle Database 10g Express Edition via the software downloads area of OTN. You should check this area frequently, download updates when available, and install them.
Depending on the type of update, the procedure that you undertake can vary. Simple software updates would most likely require that you just shut down Oracle XE, install the patch, and then restart Oracle XE. When a patch must update your database, the installer (or you) might run some command scripts to make the necessary changes to the database.
