I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Probability and intelligence
What does it mean for an event to have a probability distribution? Where does the probability distribution come from, and what does it tell us about the problem?
Let's first discuss why this question matters. We can classify what we think of as intelligent behavior into two categories:
- Understanding what will happen in the future as a result of your actions and the actions of others (prediction/causality)
- Knowing what actions to take that will get you what you want (decision/utility)
Being able to accurately predict what will happen to you informs your decisions on what you should do to maximize the benefit to yourself. An agent that can do either or both of these things well can be said to behave intelligently. ...
