Production considerations relating to the type of production

Apart from cost considerations, the greatest influence on your decision as to whether to shoot HD, and how you decide which of the eight available frame formats to use, will be the type of production you are on. Sport, for instance, when destined solely for television transmission might best be shot at 60i or 50i (US or Europe direct television compatibility). Anything with a likelihood of reaching the cinema screen should be shot at 24P or in Europe possibly at 25P.
