It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
What is a career objective statement?
A recent trend has been to include a career objective at the beginning of your CV. The career objective is a succinct statement that describes what you want out of a job. It allows the reader to get a quick idea of your suitability for the job advertised, and it also serves to make you appear more motivated.
Career objectives can be as simple as stating what sort of job you are looking for. For instance someone in the medical world might write:
Employment in a hospital specialising in care of the elderly.
