If you have Windows NT 4.0 servers in your environment that you are not intending to move anytime soon to Windows 2000, they can still make for excellent remote access servers using Microsoft RAS. You can install RAS on either Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server or Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server. The steps are the same. Realize, however, that Windows NT 4.0 Server will support only domain or local authentication with RAS, and not more advanced means of authentication, such as RADIUS, that are available in Windows 2000.
