It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Topographic mapping is the process of measuring the horizontal projection position and elevation of the Earth's surface and presenting them with topographic maps, with symbols and notes. Traditional topographic mapping is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and difficult to guarantee high measurement accuracy in complex terrains. LiDAR can quickly, directly, and accurately acquire high-density three-dimensional (3D) spatial information of Earth's surface and has been widely used in topographic mapping.
