CHAPTER 26: THE ISO 27001 AUDIT

While some organizations might still debate the value of ISO 27001 certification (arguing that what matters is the implementation of an effective ISMS rather than a badge), the market is moving against them, and a major objective of this book is to help those organizations that see the value in certification to achieve it. The first three chapters clearly explained all the benefits that accrue from certification, and these will not be rehashed here; a certification audit is a practical and cost-effective way of meeting the requirement in control 5.35 for an independent review of information security, and provides a means of demonstrating compliance with ISO 27001.
