Explanation: The diagonal element of a 2-D array can be calculated only if the number of rows and
columns is same. That type of matrix is called square matrix. Diagonal elements of a matrix are those
elements where rows and columns are same, i.e., row 0 col 0, row 1 col 1, etc. To fi nd the sum of diagonal
elements, it is checked if the row is equal to the column and if found equal, their sum is taken into account.
Look at the given matrix.
