Serverless tools
So how does the on-going development cycle of Kubernetes affect the development of the serverless tools we have been looking at, and how does that affect their own development cycles?
To start, let's look at the type of tool. In the last chapter, when looking at security, we found out that there are basically two types of tool. The first adds and extends functionality within Kubernetes, such as Kubeless and Funktion. The second type of tool consumes Kubernetes services by basically sitting on top of Kubernetes and making API calls, such as Apache OpenWhisk, Fission, and OpenFaaS.
