So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Dies kommt gerade bei eingebetteten Grafiken leicht vor. Stellen Sie sich vor, Sie haben eine Grafik mit einem Grafikprogramm erstellt und eingebunden. Jetzt gefällt Ihnen das Ergebnis plötzlich nicht mehr. Dann müssen Sie von der LaTeX-Entwicklungsumgebung zum Grafikprogramm wechseln, ein paar Änderungen vornehmen, wieder zurück zu LaTeX, das Dokument neu erstellen und nachsehen, ob es jetzt gefällt. Für komplizierte Abbildungen mag das halb so wild sein. Wenn Sie aber nur ein Diagrämmchen haben wollen, können Sie sich diese Umstände sparen und gewinnen sogar noch ein paar Vorteile hinzu.
Die picture-Umgebung erlaubt es, mitten im Text kleine Grafiken zu malen. Das Besondere dabei ist, dass diese Grafiken mit demselben Zeichensatz beschriftet werden können, mit dem auch der Rest des Dokuments ...
