I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit
A great tool to create standardized deployment packages for application deployment is the PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit. It provides standard cmdlets for such typical deployment scenarios as checking for opened files and showing message boxes, logging, and MSI executions. In application deployment scenarios, you will frequently find problems due to different wrappers. Some validate previously installed versions, others not. Some check for opened files, and others just initiate the installation. To prevent these types of error, it is good to have a standardized layout, which can easily be shared with an external partner. This tool is frequently used in combination with SCCM.
