When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Dependencies and support
As you know, PowerShell Core 6 and all following PowerShell versions depend on .NET Core. The first version of .NET Core was released in 2016:
On August 14, 2017, .NET Core 2 was released, on which PowerShell Core 6.0 is based. It implements .NET Standard 2.0 with the following conditions (https://github.com/dotnet/standard):
- .NET Standard defines a set of APIs that have to be implemented by all .NET platforms, as shown in the following diagram
- .NET Standard 2.0 is implemented by .NET Core
- .NET Standard 2.0 includes a compatibility shim for .NET Framework binaries
- .NET Standard will replace Portable Class Libraries ...
