When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The Marquee tools
The Marquee tools are the simplest of the different selection tools. There are four different types of Marquee tools, namely the Rectangular Marquee, Elliptical Marquee, Column Marquee, and Row Marquee tools. By default, only the Rectangular and Elliptical Marquees are shown in the toolbar, but you can add the other two anytime by going to the Tool preferences panel we talked about in the first chapter. These are great for selecting objects that are rectangular or oval shaped. Once you choose the Marquee tool, just drag an area over the image to make your selection. Also note, when using the Elliptical Marquee tool you can slightly smooth out edges by selecting the Smooth Edges option in the Elliptical Marquee tool settings ...
