CHAPTER 12 RIM LIGHTING

THE SETUP

This is a simple one-flash setup that creates a profile silhouette, with a bright rim light outlining our subject. I’m using a large softbox, up high and a bit behind her. She’s sitting sideways instead of facing the camera because I want the side of her closest to the camera to get just a tiny hint of light falling on that side of her face.
