dasd or dasd_mod - DASD
The DASD driver is configured by the dasd= or dasd_mod= kernel parameter in
the parameter file. Depending on what version of the kernel you are running, the
driver may be named dasd.o, or dasd_mod.o (if you’re not sure, try the
commands locate dasd.o and locate dasd_mod.o). Unless you are running from
a ramdisk during installation, this will not be important to you, because the driver
must be compiled into the kernel, and not as a module if your root file system is
on DASD.
It is conceivable that your root file system is on a volume specified by the mdisk=
parameter, so the entries needed in /etc/modules.conf are shown here.
