11.5.1 Red Hat under VIF checklist
1. Read the preparation section for installing Linux in an LPAR, “Prepare the
LPAR for Linux” on page 31.
2. Plan your DASD configuration:
a. Which volumes are going to be used.
a. What file systems are going to be on what volumes.
a. How big those volumes need to be.
3. Fill out the installation worksheet (see Table 11-2 on page 162 ).
4. In the root directory of the Red Hat FTP server, there is a file named
redhat.ins. This file points to the initial RAMdisk, kernel, and kernel parameter
files to be used by VIF for setting up the master Linux system, Linux0.
