It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The Load Progress box was then displayed while the tape was read.
The reading of the tape was eventually successful, as indicated as in
Figure 3-12. However, as often occurs, we experienced a number of load failures
due to other systems accessing the tape controllers, etc, so patience and
persistence are definitely virtues in this scenario.

At this point, the installation kernel has been booted. If you double-click the
Operating System Messages icon, you will (eventually) start to see the usual
Linux/390 startup messages. This may take a minute or more, depending on your
