SEQUENCERS
A sequencer reads back a series of voltages in a sequence. Often, you’ll see them
as melodic controllers that quickly cycle through a series of potentiometers
that retune an oscillator. If you hear a synth play a repeated line really quickly,
chances are it’s not a human playing a keyboard but a sequencer happily cycling
along.
To build a sequencer, see Chapter 11.
RIBBON CONTROLLERS
A ribbon is a long, skinny controller that can be played with a single finger. The
ribbon itself acts like a potentiometer, and pressing it at a certain place will
cause the circuit’s resistance to immediately change to a new value.
