
How can we use it?
• By putting an audio-rate square wave into the 4040’s input, our chip
automatically generates a rich array of sub-octaves.
• If we provide an LFO-rate square wave, our chip will generate nested binary
rhythms.
• We can use three consecutive divisions to count in binary—our 4051
multiplexer chip was designed specifically for this integration. This binary
count is digital information that our ICs understand how to work with.
Basic operation:
Send VCC to pin 16 and ground to pin 8. We will also need to connect pin 11 to
