Convergence

Convergence of other technologies with blockchains brings about major benefits. At their core, blockchains provide resilience, security, and transparency, which, when combined with other technologies, results in a very powerful technology that complements each other. For example, the IoT can gain major benefits when implemented via blockchains, such as integrity, decentralization, and scalability. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is expected to gain benefits from blockchain technology, and in fact, within blockchain technology, AI can be implemented in the form of Autonomous Agents (AAs). More examples and the aforementioned converging technologies would be discussed in detail in later sections in the chapter.
