Setting up ML Kit for face detection

Face detection also depends on Firebase SDK, so the first important step is to make sure that your project is connected with Firebase SDK. Now you can choose to add the vision dependency mentioned in the text recognition chapter of this chapter.

You can use the following metadata tag to your application scope, and it will also fetch the ML models from the Play Store: <meta-data      android:name="com.google.firebase.ml.vision.DEPENDENCIES"       android:value="face" />

In case for whatever reason we need to change the default face detection settings, please do it in the FirebaseVisionFaceDetectorOptions object. The following table illustrates the different features available:
