Data classification

Data classification is the process of classifying data in an effective way to ensure an effective level of data protection.  Each organization who uses data governance usually defines a data classification policy, which tells us about where the data falls in multiple level of classification and how that data will be protected.  There are few prerequisites for data classification such as defining roles and responsibilities for classifying data, all the business processes should be  identified and documented, identification of risks associated with confidential information, policies and procedures for  data classification should be defined and so on.
